Not sure where to begin? Ask Bob helps you find the right starting point in my underwater photography lessons.

Oceanic Explorers,

For three and a half years, I’ve published an award-winning weekly blog to help you understand underwater photography and make more confident editing decisions.

Many of you have told me how much you value these lessons. But as the collection has grown, a practical challenge has grown with it: Where do I start? Which article should I read first for what I’m trying to learn or fix?

You might be working on a photo that still looks blue after White Balance. You might want to understand why your reef images look flat. Or you might simply want to learn the editing process in the right order.

The lesson you need may already be here. Finding your starting point should be easier.

That’s why I created Ask Bob: Find My Underwater Photo Fix.

Think of it as a guide into my growing collection of underwater photography lessons. Tell it what you’re trying to understand or what isn’t working in your photograph, and it will help you find relevant articles to read first.

My goal is to help you spend less time searching through past posts and more time learning something you can put to work in your own photographs.

Start with your question. Find your next lesson.

Describe the problem. Find a relevant lesson.

Type your underwater photography question in your own words, or choose one of the example questions. Ask Bob searches my blog articles and may ask up to two short clarifying questions to narrow down the problem.

When it finds a strong match, it recommends articles that explain what to adjust, why it matters, and where that adjustment belongs in your workflow.

Try questions like:

  • “My underwater photo still looks blue after White Balance.”

  • “The subject looks right, but the water is too cyan.”

  • “My reef photo looks flat.”

  • “The colors look unnatural after editing.”

Still need help?

If the articles don’t quite answer your question, you can add more detail and try one refinement. You can also choose Ask Bob Directly to send me your question, along with the questions and articles from your session.

The photo submission form requires a Google account. If you don’t have one, an email option is available.

If Ask Bob doesn’t find a strong article match, it will say so and offer direct contact.

Built around my underwater photography lessons

Ask Bob searches only Robert Herb Photography content. It does not search the open web. Its purpose is to help you find a useful lesson and make a more informed editing decision.

The goal is the same one I teach throughout my workflow: understand the problem, choose the right adjustment, and move forward with confidence.
